Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – AM

Back to Health Science Careers

This one-year program integrates Biology and Anatomy & Physiology and is designed for juniors or seniors interested in pursuing a career in nursing or medicine.  

Students have the opportunity to complete the requirements of the Maine State Board of Nursing and Department of Health and Human Services to become a Certified Nursing Assistant.

The clinical component of the program is held at Waldo County General Hospital, Tall Pines and Harbor Hill. Practice labs occur during class time.

Students who have entered a profession in the medical field report that the skills and knowledge acquired in this program have been highly beneficial.


High School Biology.

Exceptional attendance required to meet State of Maine requirements.



This course meets Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, and Fri from 8:30 am to 11:00 am.


This course is held at WCTC in room Health Science Careers.
