The electrical field can be divided into three broad categories: residential, commercial, and industrial systems. As you study to become an electrician, you will reach a point at which you may decide which area to of electrical work you might pursue. Many skilled electricians become comfortable in residential and commercial wiring, while other may enjoy either industrial, communications, or solar and wind. Later on in your career, you may decide to start you own company or teach others in the trade.
Students can compete against their peers at local, state and national levels against students from other technical schools in competitions sponsored by Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Maine and Skills USA.
