Jennifer Rich has been a math instructor at WCTC since September 2013. She graduated from high school in Birmingham, Michigan in 1976 and attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY. She earned a BSE and MSE in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research from the University of Michigan and worked as a Process & Technology Engineer in healthcare and financial services for 30 years.
Mrs. Rich will be fully certified by the Maine DOE as a high school math instructor in September 2015. She teaches math for the University of Maine at the Hutchinson Center in Belfast, and provides private tutoring services.
Mrs. Rich enjoys challenges. She works well with students who have struggled with math in the past, sharing mental math tricks and shortcuts that make math easier and more interesting. Mrs. Rich is a do-it-yourselfer with skills in carpentry, plumbing and electrical trades. With her military background and engineering mindset, Mrs. Rich relates well to students at WCTC.
In the winter Mrs. Rich enjoys swimming at the YMCA, skiing and snow-shoeing. The rest of the year she enjoys gardening, biking, golf and sailing.
